about us

Lid’ya C. Rivera is a proud vitiligo advocate, decorated Navy veteran, award-winning filmmaker, and confidencecoach. She was diagnosed as an infant with vitiligo, causing her to face childhood bullying and low self-esteem, which later inspired her passion for storytelling and raising awareness about the skin disorder. Lid’ya is a native of Georgia where she resides with her three daughters and son. She is a graduate of Excelsior University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

Niña Mata is a #1 New York Times bestselling illustrator and received her degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City. She has illustrated many books, including American gymnast Laurie Hernandez’s She’s Got This, NBA superstar LeBron James’s I Promise, You Are My Favorite Color, written by Gillian Sze, and the Ty’s Travels I Can Read series. Niña currently lives in New Jersey with her husband, their daughter, and Tabitha, their cat.
